Basketball Recap: Westmoor Comes Up Short

Westmoor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were dealt a 75-44 loss at the hands of the Terra Nova Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1073rd, while the Tigers are ranked 507th).

Terra Nova's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kai Gieraths, who went 6 for 10 en route to 15 points. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Martins, who posted ten points.

Westmoor's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Terra Nova, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season.

Westmoor will square off against San Mateo at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday. San Mateo will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Westmoor surely won't give up without a fight. As for Terra Nova, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-57 victory against Marin Academy on the 25th.
