Basketball Game Preview: Gibbs Eagles vs. Clinton Dragons

Gibbs is 1-9 against Clinton since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Gibbs Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Clinton Dragons at 6:00 p.m.

Gibbs is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Friday. They took a blow against Scott, falling 65-28. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while the Highlanders are ranked 86th).

Meanwhile, Clinton didn't have too much trouble with Cumberland Gap on Friday as they won 41-24.

Gibbs' loss dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Clinton, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-12 record this season.

Gibbs came up short against Clinton in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 47-38. Can Gibbs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
