Football Game Preview: Watson Chapel Wildcats vs. Jacksonville Titans

The Watson Chapel Wildcats are taking a road trip to take on the Jacksonville Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Watson Chapel comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Watson Chapel is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Beebe on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Wildcats lost 45-22 to the Badgers. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-6.

Meanwhile, Jacksonville hadn't done well against White Hall recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Titans simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Bulldogs 49-8. That 41 point margin sets a new team best for the Titans this season.

Watson Chapel better keep an eye on Mason Ball. He was instrumental in Jacksonville's win, rushing for 201 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.2 yards per carry. Ball showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 60 yards. Another player making a difference was Matthew Goldsberry, who picked up 78 receiving yards and three scores.

Jacksonville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 234 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September.

Jacksonville's win ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-7. As for Watson Chapel, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.

Watson Chapel didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Jacksonville in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, but they still walked away with a 19-14 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
