DeSoto (De Soto, Texas) snapped
Coppell (Texas)'s 11-game winning streak, with a 42-14 victory on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Dontre Wilson in the first quarter, the Eagles led 28-7 at the half.
DeSoto expanded its lead to 28 points entering the fourth quarter. DHS's lone score in the quarter came on a
Desmond White touchdown run.
Colby Mahon made a difference for the Cowboys. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns.
The De Soto school's most effective player was Wilson. The senior running back ran for three touchdowns and caught one touchdown. A member of the Top 25 Running Backs, Wilson has now scored six touchdowns on the season.
Coppell came in giving up 8.1 points per game this season. CHS struggled against the Eagles' offense, which entered the game scoring 15.7 points per game. DeSoto entered the contest giving up 21.4 points per game this year.
