Volleyball Recap: Fort Wayne Wayne Comes Up Short

The Fort Wayne Wayne Generals came up short against the Norwell Knights on Wednesday and fell 3-1.

Fort Wayne Wayne started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-19, 25-9, 25-21.

Xavier Johnson paced Fort Wayne Wayne's offense, picking up nine kills. Johnson got some help from Jackson Hickey and his 12 assists.

Fort Wayne Wayne dropped their record down to 3-7 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Norwell, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-7.

Looking ahead, Fort Wayne Wayne will welcome Fort Wayne Snider at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Generals surely won't give up without a fight. As for Norwell, they will head out on the road to square off against Peru at 6:00 p.m. on the 8th.
