Softball Game Preview: GlenOak Golden Eagles vs. Hoover Vikings

The GlenOak Golden Eagles will take on the Hoover Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

GlenOak made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Lake, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Golden Eagles fell just short of the Blue Streaks by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty 22 runs in the game before, the Golden Eagles couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, Hoover never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over McKinley. Considering the Vikings have won six matchups by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Hoover is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for GlenOak, their loss dropped their record down to 12-7.

GlenOak beat Hoover 8-3 in their previous matchup back in April. Do the Golden Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
