Softball Recap: Marais des Cygnes Valley Takes a Loss

Marais des Cygnes Valley was the 21-10 winner over Pleasant Ridge when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Trojans lost 17-7 to the Rams on Tuesday. Trojans fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Rams since on Tuesday.

Emily Criqui was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Akyra Traver, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

This is the second loss in a row for Marais des Cygnes Valley and nudges their season record down to 2-9. As for Pleasant Ridge, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-5 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Marais des Cygnes Valley beat the Rams by a score of 15-14 later that day.
