Baseball Recap: Montgomery County's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Montgomery County extended their winning streak to three on Monday, bumping their season record up to 12-8 in the process. Everything went their way against the Fleming County Panthers as they made off with a 12-2 win. 12 seems to be a good number for the Indians as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Talan Stevens and Brody Roland did most of the damage at the plate: Stevens went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Roland went 1-for-2 with three RBI and two runs. That's the most RBI Roland has posted since back in March. Brayden Dore also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Montgomery County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fleming County only posted a batting average of .286.

As for Fleming County, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-9. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for they, who until this match were averaging four runs allowed.

On Fleming County's side, Dylan Doyle was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run.

Coincidentally, Montgomery County and Fleming County will both be playing Bath County the next time they take the field. The Panthers will host the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Indians will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
