Baseball Recap: Glenbrook Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Glenbrook kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against the Loyola College Prep Flyers, falling 14-6.

Easton Sanders put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Sanders was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing one base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Jackson Waller was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Preston Frye, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

While Glenbrook had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
