League recap: Morales throws longest pass in league this season for Fowler

Matt Morales and Blake Brisco provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Liberty. The longest such play in West Sequoia this season, the connection resulted in 61 yards.

Caruthers moved up to 780 from 877 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Blue Raiders climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Sierra 14-0.

Fowler's dynamic duo of Morales and Brisco proved to be unstoppable against the Hawks, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Morales threw for 149 yards and Brisco had 80 yards receiving. Thomas Ash helped Fowler's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 48 yards.

The Redcats' dynamic duo of Morales and Brisco proved tough for Liberty to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.

Nolan Corippo was a key player and the best on defense this week as Minarets lost to Avenal. The 6-foot-0 senior.

Morales put up the best numbers in passing as Fowler lost to Mike Nolte's team.

Brisco was the best wideout in the league this week as Steve Nelson's team fell to the Hawks.

Kyle Reed was the best running back in West Sequoia this week. He ran for 28 yards on 6 carries as the Mustangs fell to Liberty. Teammate Justin McLeod added to the ground attack by rushing for 10 yards.

Fowler's James Silva and Brisco have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Silva has thrown for 180 yards this season, while Brisco, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 14 catches for 179 yards. Reed from Minarets leads the league in rushing with 115 yards.

The Redcats fell to the Hawks 41-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Morales was a bright spot for Fowler, as he ran for 18 yards in the loss.
