Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Stanhope Elmore). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Percy Julian Phoenix an 18-0 shutout on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Phoenix: they've now won six in a row.

Stanhope Elmore got a big performance out of Tristin Wilson, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance also gave Wilson a new career-high in RBI (two). Jacob Tharpe was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

Wilson wasn't the only one making solid contact: Stanhope Elmore kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for the Mustangs: they were averaging 5.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 10.8.

Stanhope Elmore's win bumped their record up to 16-12. As for Percy Julian, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.

Stanhope Elmore will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Phoenix: the pair will be back at it again later today.
