Soccer Game Preview: University City vs. Kearny

The University City Centurions are taking a road trip to face off against the Kearny Komets at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. University City is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.

University City's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over Clairemont. The Centurions' winning goal came courtesy of Silas Quirino.

Meanwhile, Kearny got the win against Hoover on Tuesday by a conclusive 4-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Komets.

Kearny has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those four matches. As for University City, they pushed their record up to 10-2-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

University City took their win against Kearny when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for University City since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
