Football Recap: Imperial Tigers vs. Christian Patriots
Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Imperial couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Christian Patriots by a score of 28-26 on Friday. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
A big part of Christian's victory came down to the chemistry between Kaleb Runkle and his top target Kai Rosier. Runkle threw for 290 yards and three touchdowns while Rosier picked up 214 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Imperial's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-2. As for Christian, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-2.
Imperial does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Christian, they will take on University City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Christian is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
