Softball Recap: Cle Elum-Roslyn Comes Up Short

Cle Elum-Roslyn dropped their record down to 11-5 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They lost 23-1 to the River View Panthers. Having soared to a lofty 22 runs in the game before, the Warriors couldn't push the score so high this time.

Cle Elum-Roslyn saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Preslee Hageman, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

As for River View, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-1. The game marked their most dominant victory of the season.

On River View's side, Kaydence Mathews made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Mathews was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Danika Koch, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Brekkyn Ward, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

While Cle Elum-Roslyn had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
