After flying high against Ponte Vedra last Tuesday, Nease came back down to earth. The Panthers took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Baldwin Indians on Thursday. The Panthers' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Sydney Davis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

Nease's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Baldwin, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nease will head out to take on Sandalwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Saints have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed eight runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Baldwin, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Oakleaf at 6:00 p.m. on the 15th.
