Carterville put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Vernon Hills Cougars 11-1. Fans of the Lions have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Carterville let Gavin Johnson and Haiden Lange run wild. Johnson went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base, while Lange scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Lange is also crushing it when it comes to RBI: he's brought in at least three every time he's taken the field this season. Zach Snow was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Carterville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Carterville's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Vernon Hills, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Coming up, Carterville will head out on the road to square off against Chester at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Carterville is facing Chester at the right time seeing as Chester is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Vernon Hills, they will host Warren Township at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.
