Volleyball Recap: Foothill Comes Up Short

If Foothill was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Enterprise two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cougars lost 3-0 to the Chico Panthers on Monday. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

While Foothill ultimately came up short, they really made Chico work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 27-25, 25-21.

Foothill's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Chico, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Foothill will face off against Tulelake at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Chico, they will take on Oroville at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight.
