Basketball Recap: Leipsic Comes Up Short

Leipsic lost against Kalida back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Leipsic Vikings were beaten by the Kalida Wildcats 59-24. The Vikings were down 50-16 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Allie Kuhlman was the offensive standout of the contest as she made all 6 shots she took for 15 points and four steals. Thanks to that strong game, she now owns an excellent 45.6% shooting accuracy. Madison Unverferth was another key player, putting up seven points and three steals.

Leipsic has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season. As for Kalida, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 14-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leipsic will challenge Arlington at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Kalida, they will take on Continental at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in Kalida's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Continental has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road.
