Softball Recap: Eureka Takes a Loss

Eureka was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 16-10 to the McKinleyville Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, with their most recent loss being a 11-1 defeat on Saturday.

Jaycee Childress was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. Macy Secor was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

Eureka's loss dropped their record down to 0-9-1. As for McKinleyville, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season.

Coincidentally, Eureka and McKinleyville will both be playing Del Norte the next time they take the field. The Panthers will host the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Loggers will head out to face them at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
