Volleyball Recap: Fountain Valley Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against Cripple Creek-Victor last Saturday, Fountain Valley came back down to earth. The Danes came up short against the Thomas MacLaren School Highlanders on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Danes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Highlanders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-18, 25-16.

Keira Llewelyn paced Fountain Valley's offense, picking up nine kills. Llewelyn got some help from Olivia Nunez-Alley and her 11 assists. Finally, Sarah Holman kept Fountain Valley's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Fountain Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season. As for Thomas MacLaren School, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Fountain Valley will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Evangel Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. As for Thomas MacLaren School, they have already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Banning Lewis Academy on the 25th.
