Soccer Game Preview: Middletown vs. Monroe-Woodbury

Middletown hasn't had much luck against Monroe-Woodbury recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Middie Bears will head out on the road to challenge the Crusaders at 4:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Middletown is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They never let Minisink Valley get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory on Monday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Monroe-Woodbury, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 4-0 margin over Goshen Central on Monday. The high-scoring effort was just what Monroe-Woodbury needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Klement BUJAJ and Patrick SMITH scored all four of Monroe-Woodbury's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 12 goals.

Middletown's victory bumped their record up to 4-5-1. As for Monroe-Woodbury, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.

Middletown suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Monroe-Woodbury in their previous matchup on September 10th. Can the Middie Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
