Basketball Game Preview: Shawnee Golden Eagles vs. Central Yellow Jackets

Shawnee is 1-9 against Central since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Shawnee Golden Eagles will challenge the Central Yellow Jackets at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Shawnee is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They were beaten by Pleasure Ridge Park 70-30. While losing is never fun, the Golden Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 224th, while the Panthers are ranked 30th).

Meanwhile, Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 73-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Seneca.

Central's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Shawnee, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12.

Shawnee came up short against Central when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 62-49. Can Shawnee avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
