Baseball Game Preview: Millville Thunderbolts vs. Egg Harbor Township Eagles

For the second straight game, Millville will face off against Egg Harbor Township. The Thunderbolts are taking a road trip to take on the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Millville easily dispatched Bridgeton on Monday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Thunderbolts fell just short of Egg Harbor Township by a score of 9-7 on Tuesday. The Thunderbolts have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

For Egg Harbor Township's part, Dylan Salsbery was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Salsbery was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Egg Harbor Township is 2-1 when Salsbery posts two or more stolen bases, but 6-8 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Austin Fisher, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Casey, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Millville's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Egg Harbor Township, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-9.
