Softball Game Preview: Scottsburg Warriors vs. New Albany Bulldogs

The Scottsburg Warriors will head out to challenge the New Albany Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Scottsburg comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Trinity Lutheran hit Scottsburg with a six-run first inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Warriors came up short against the Cougars, falling 12-2.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but New Albany ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They put the hurt on Clarksville with a sharp 10-4 victory. The Bulldogs not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 12th (when they won 13-0).

The win made it two in a row for New Albany and bumps their season record up to 6-12. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Scottsburg, their loss dropped their record down to 0-12.

Scottsburg couldn't quite get it done against New Albany in their previous matchup back in April of 2023 as they fell 7-3. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
