Basketball Recap: St. John-Vianney Comes Up Short

St. John-Vianney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt an 88-58 loss at the hands of the Rumson-Fair Haven Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 211th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 28th).

St. John-Vianney's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Rumson-Fair Haven, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-3.

St. John-Vianney is taking a road trip to take on Manchester Township at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Rumson-Fair Haven, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Toms River North at 1:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Rumson-Fair Haven's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Toms River North has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
