Softball Recap: El Dorado Wins Going Away Against Hot Springs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sheridan, El Dorado was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Hot Springs Trojans as they made off with a 16-6 win. Considering the Wildcats' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Malia Booth was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alysa Wilson, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Stella Martinez, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

El Dorado's victory bumped their record up to 4-13-1. As for Hot Springs, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.

Looking ahead, El Dorado will challenge Lake Hamilton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hot Springs, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 14-0 loss against Arkansas on the 2nd.
