Preview: Timber Creek Wolves vs. Winter Park Wildcats
The Timber Creek Wolves will be playing at home against the Winter Park Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Two weeks ago, Timber Creek got themselves on the board against University, but University never followed suit. They breezed by the Cougars on the road to the tune of 38-0. The win was just what Timber Creek needed coming off of a 38-7 loss in their prior matchup.
Nathaniel Hull was on fire: he rushed for 108 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also picked up 78 receiving yards. Hull's longest reception was for an incredible 78 yards. Brian Kendall was another key contributor, throwing for 174 yards and a touchdown on only 13 passes.
Meanwhile, Winter Park put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Colonial 62-6 at home. The result was nothing new for Winter Park, who have now won four contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Winter Park's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Grant Conner led the charge by throwing for 53 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Williams, who threw for 109 yards and two touchdowns on only seven passes.
Timber Creek's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Winter Park, their victory was their seventh straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-0.
Timber Creek was taken down by Winter Park 47-3 in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Thankfully for Timber Creek, Amaris Shaw (who rushed for 158 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
