The East Hickman County Eagles will face off against the Harpeth Indians at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
The home team had come away the winner the last five times East Hickman County and Houston County had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Eagles blew past the Fighting Irish 12-3 on Friday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Eagles' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Jayden Malugin made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI. East Hickman County is undefeated when Malugin posts two or more runs, but 2-11 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Braden Presley, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Landon Erickson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
East Hickman County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Houston County only posted an OBP of .241.
Meanwhile, Harpeth had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. Everything went their way against the Lions as they made off with a 13-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.
Hudson Ealy was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.
East Hickman County's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-11. As for Harpeth, their win bumped their record up to 14-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. East Hickman County has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Harpeth struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
