Baseball Recap: Batesburg-Leesville Comes Up Short

After flying high against American Leadership Academy last Tuesday, Batesburg-Leesville came back down to earth. The Panthers fell just short of the South Aiken Thoroughbreds by a score of 4-3 on Wednesday.

Carter Bouknight made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

Batesburg-Leesville's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3-1. As for South Aiken, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Batesburg-Leesville will take on American Leadership Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Aiken, they will square off against North Augusta at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Thoroughbreds are facing the Yellow Jackets at the right time seeing as the Yellow Jackets are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
