Baseball Recap: Southern Triumphs

Southern owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They walked away with a 4-0 win over the Clay Panthers. The Tornadoes have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

The victory made it two in a row for Southern and bumps their season record up to 11-8-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Clay, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-10 record this season.

Southern will head out to face off against South Webster at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Jeeps' pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so the Tornadoes' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Clay does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
