Basketball Recap: Chase Burches Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat St. Martin's Episcopal

Springfield's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They strolled past the St. Martin's Episcopal Saints with points to spare, taking the game 49-35.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Springfield to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chase Burches, who went 7-for-12 on his way to 15 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Da'shaun Goss, who posted nine points and eight rebounds.

Springfield's record is now 2-3. As for St. Martin's Episcopal, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Springfield will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Varnado at 7:15 p.m. on the 16th. As for St. Martin's Episcopal, they will face off against Benjamin Franklin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Saints are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
