Football Recap: Bullis Comes Up Short

Bullis played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the St. Mary's Ryken Knights, falling 40-6. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-0.

When it comes to explaining why Bullis lost, don't look at Cedrick Youty. Despite the final result, he rushed for 74 yards and one TD on only seven carries. Youty's longest rush was for an impressive 56 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Bullis didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Jameer Wallace, Giovanni Fernandez, and Kirk Robinson picked up one apiece.

Bullis now has a losing record of 2-3. As for St. Mary's Ryken, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Coming up, Bullis will face off against Flint Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will be up against the Huskies' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for St. Mary's Ryken, they will host Our Lady of Good Counsel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
