The Miller Rebels will head out on the road to challenge the Rancho Verde Mustangs at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. The last three games Miller has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
While Miller's victory against Pacific wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rebels never let the Pirates get on the board and left with a 2-0 win on Friday.

Pacific's batters probably weren't too happy with Fabian Baldovinos-Vega, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 13 Ks (he gave up two walks). Baldovinos-Vega also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Miller is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-3 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Miller saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elian Salas, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Rancho Verde unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of JW North by a score of 3-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Eli Draper was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits.
At the plate, Jaydan Quintana was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Abraham Manzo was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Miller is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Rancho Verde, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 9-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Miller has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Rancho Verde struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Miller couldn't quite finish off Rancho Verde when the teams last played back in February of 2025 and fell 4-2. Can the Rebels avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
