Football Game Recap: St. Mary's vs. Newell-Fonda

St. Mary's were close but not close enough on Friday as they fell 22-24 to Newell-Fonda. Things were expected to be close, but in this case the state rankings mixed up the winning team.

Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Next week St. Mary's take on Clay Central-Everly at 7:00 PM. Clay Central-Everly are limping into the matchup on a eight-game losing streak. Newell-Fonda will stay at home against West Bend-Mallard at 7:00 PM. Since neither squad is a stranger to landslide victories this season, you'd better bet it will be hard-fought showdown.
