Basketball Recap: Evergreen Christian Comes Up Short

On Tuesday, the Evergreen Christian Eagles took a blow against the Bishop Ireton Cardinals, falling 89-59. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Evergreen Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jackson Britt, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 16 points. Britt's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Cole Forbrich, who posted eight points and five rebounds.

Evergreen Christian's loss dropped their record down to 19-13. As for Bishop Ireton, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-10.

Evergreen Christian has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 198 points over their last three contests. As for Bishop Ireton, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Bishop Ireton Cardinals duke it out with the Paul VI Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Bishop Ireton's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.
