DeSoto Central waltzed into their game on Monday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They put the hurt on the Southaven Chargers with a sharp 11-1 victory. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 matchups by six runs or more this season.
Makayla Jamison made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Londen Armstrong and Colby Young did most of the damage at the plate: Armstrong scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Young scored a run while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits Young has posted since back in February. Maddie Hudson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
