Knightstown waltzed into their game  on Thursday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They put the hurt on the Cambridge City Lincoln Golden Eagles with a sharp  12-2 win. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Knightstown got a great performance from  Carter Gossett as he  tossed five innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   two  hits. Gossett has been consistent: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in six consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Bryce Marrow was  excellent,  getting on base  in all three of his plate appearances with three  runs and one  stolen base. Those  three  runs gave  him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Kelton Weaver, who  went 2-for-4 with two  stolen bases and one  run.
 Knightstown was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a  batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive  matchups.
Knightstown's victory was  their fifth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 20-3. The  home  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 13.2 runs over those games. As for Cambridge City Lincoln,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 10-10.
 Coming up, Knightstown will look to defend their home field  on Friday against Wapahani  at 5:00  p.m. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 7.5  runs per game this season. As for Cambridge City Lincoln, they will venture away from home to  square off against Eastern Hancock  at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
