Baseball Recap: Toll Gate Comes Up Short

Toll Gate was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 8-1 to the West Warwick Wizards. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wizards this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-0 on April 4th.

Toll Gate saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jonah LaFauci, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That RBI was LaFauci's first of the season.

Toll Gate's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for West Warwick, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Toll Gate will challenge rival Chariho at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, West Warwick is set to square off against their familiar foe Johnston at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in the Wizards' favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while the Panthers have been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road.
