Recap: Westminster Lions vs. Ocean View Seahawks
Even though the Westminster Lions have not done well against the Ocean View Seahawks recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Westminster walked away with a 72-64 victory over Ocean View. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Westminster was led to victory by MJ Gaza and Eric Hoang. Gaza scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and five assists, while Hoang scored 26 points. Hoang continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Matt Tran, who scored 14 points.
Westminster is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for Ocean View, their loss dropped their record down to 13-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westminster will take on Garden Grove at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Garden Grove focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday. As for Ocean View, they will head out on the road to challenge Katella at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
