Baseball Recap: Regents' Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Regents let Blue Ridge stack four runs on them in the sixth inning on Tuesday but luckily Regents prevailed anyway. The Lions walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Jays. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the 12-4 win the Jays walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Luke Trivette made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 5.1 innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Joseph Porter, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Regents, bringing their record up to 6-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Blue Ridge, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Jays beat Regents by a score of 7-2 on Thursday.
