Softball Recap: St. Ignatius College Preparatory Wildcats vs. Valley Christian Warriors        
        
		
            
 If St. Ignatius College Preparatory was feeling good  off their  16-2 takedown of South San Francisco back in March, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The St. Ignatius College Preparatory Wildcats fell  10-6 to the Valley Christian Warriors on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to St. Ignatius College Preparatory of the  6-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in May of 2023.
  Delilah Berry was cooking despite her team's loss,   scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 3-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as she's  now  stolen  at least one in the last five games she's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Cecilia Ryan, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-3.
 On Valley Christian's side,  Hannah Paquiz was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out seven batters over  five innings while giving up just two earned  (and four unearned) runs off   seven  hits (and not a single walk). Paquiz was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Soledad Healy was  incredible,  going 3-for-3 with a  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI.  Gabrielle Ho was another key contributor,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
 St. Ignatius College Preparatory now  has a losing record at 5-6. As for Valley Christian, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record  this season.
 The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: they beat St. Ignatius College Preparatory by a score of  11-1 later that day.
