Softball Recap: Armstrong Trojans vs. Oakwood Comets

If Armstrong was feeling good off their 12-2 takedown of Georgetown-Ridge Farm last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Armstrong Trojans fell just short of the Oakwood Comets by a score of 6-5 on Monday. Armstrong was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Oakwood apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

Acasia Gernentz put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and only two hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Gernentz has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive pitching appearances. Gernentz was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Ellie Jameson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
