Baseball Recap: Smith County Comes Up Short

Smith County was the 11-2 winner over Gordonsville when they last played one another back in March of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Owls took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers on Monday. The Owls have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Smith County's defeat dropped their record down to 15-11. As for Gordonsville, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

While Smith County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
