Softball Recap: Mt. Vernon Takes a Loss

Mt. Vernon couldn't beat North Posey on Monday even though they stacked five runs on them in the first inning. The Wildcats lost 17-6 to the Vikings. The Wildcats have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Mt. Vernon's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for North Posey, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Mt. Vernon wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 10-8 loss against Evansville Harrison on the 16th. As for North Posey, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 5-2 victory against South Knox on the 15th.
