Basketball Recap: Discovery Has No Trouble Against Social Circle

Discovery posted their biggest victory since November 10, 2023 on Friday. They blew past the Social Circle Redskins 67-44. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while the Redskins are ranked 346th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Social Circle lost, don't look at Derrick White. Despite the final result, he went 6 of 12 en route to 16 points along with eight boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jameccus Hardge, who posted seven points and five assists.

Discovery has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points per game. As for Social Circle, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Discovery wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 59-35 win against Wesleyan on the 21st. As for Social Circle, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 56-36 loss against Morgan County on the 21st.
