Baseball Recap: Leavitt Takes a Loss

Leavitt managed to slip by Lincoln Academy the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Hornets lost 11-5 to the Eagles on Tuesday. The Hornets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Morgan Folsom was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off one hit. Folsom was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Folsom wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Randan Hutchinson, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Leavitt and nudges their season record down to 5-7. As for Lincoln Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-9-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Leavitt will square off against rival Medomak Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Lincoln Academy is set to challenge their familiar foe Gardiner at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
