Baseball Recap: West Carroll War Eagles vs. Gleason Bulldogs
West Carroll had lost eight straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 5-15 to make it nine. They came up short against the Gleason Bulldogs, falling 14-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-6 back in March.
As for Gleason, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-10. That ten-run margin sets a new team best for them this season.
For Gleason's part, Drake Lehmkuhl was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave Lehmkuhl a new career-high. Ashton Morgan was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Looking ahead, West Carroll will venture away from home to face off against Halls at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The War Eagles will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least ten runs in their last four matchups. As for Gleason, they will host Lake County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
