Softball Recap: Homer Wins High-Profile Match Against Redington

Homer faced Redington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Mariners came out on top against the Huskies by a score of 9-6. The win continues a trend for the Mariners in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now won eight in a row.

Jessica Plumlee was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Stella Condon, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one RBI.

Homer was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .818. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .409 or higher in five consecutive matchups.

Homer's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Redington, they are on a 22-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.
