Basketball Recap: Sands Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Midland Classical Academy, Sands was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They managed a 54-50 victory over the Garden City Bearkats. For the Mustangs, this counts as revenge for the 45-44 win the Bearkats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.

Sands' victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points per game. As for Garden City, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sands will take on Wilson at 1:15 p.m. on Friday. Sands is facing Wilson at the right time seeing as Wilson is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Garden City, they will face off against Blackwell at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Garden City has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
