Basketball Recap: Germani Wilson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mays over North Oconee

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Mays couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 64-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Oconee Titans. The Raiders were not able to make up for their loss to the Titans from their previous meeting back in February of 2022.

Mays' defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Germani Wilson, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 18 boards. Wilson has been hot, having posted ten or more rebounds the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Clayton Coppock, who went 6-for-11 to rack up 15 points.

Mays' loss dropped their record down to 21-9. As for North Oconee, the victory (which was their 26th in a row) raised their record to 28-2.

Mays does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for North Oconee, they will square off against McDonough on Saturday. McDonough has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
